Rape in the military, society&#39;s varied treatment of combat veterans, and the reluctance to seek help for mental health issues by veterans and civilians alike all make an appearance and come together to resolve the4th season&#39;s cliffhanger in an unexpected way. <br/><br/>However, in usual Longmire fashion, it does it in a way that doesn&#39;t become soapboxy, and rather enhances the compelling character exploration that occurs this season. Walt&#39;s nuanced approach to dangerous situations allows the suspects to reveal thought-provoking motivations that create justmuch potential for reflection for the viewerit does Walt himself.
